Designer Louis Henri Bührmann is a forward-thinker who looks to the past to create period pieces of tomorrow. His obsessive attention to detail means his pieces are impeccably crafted, finely detailed, reassuringly expensive and unmissable. Take this Shongololo bench. Named after and inspired by the ‘shongololo’, an affectionate term for centipedes and millipedes, it is completely hand-made with 56 hand-turned walnut legs. No country pile is complete without one.
